Alison Day Designs

Hello, I’m Alison Day, an Oxfordshire-based, multi-media artist, designer and voiceover artist, with over 20 years experience in the creative industries. Inspired by the seasons, flora and fauna, cat antics, travel and a love of storytelling.

My career as a graphic designer, took me from designing for an international publication in the Netherlands, to self-publishing my own children’s story book; a process that allowed me to combine my love for words and illustration.

More recently, my interest has reverted to hands-on media, which led me to visit the Mosaic School in Ravenna, Italy (May 2025), to study the 18th century technique of micro-mosaics. These days, my creative repertoire includes: papiermâché artworks, artisan sterling silver and micro-mosaic jewellery (collection soon!).

Alongside my visual work, I have two decades of experience as a professional voiceover artist. My voice has been heard throughout Europe, on museum tours, in audio educational books, corporate films and documentaries (Sound bites). For me, a voiceover is the audio equivalent of a fine mosaic: it’s about choosing the right tone, intonation and vocal pauses, to make a story resonate.
